Deleting your account and your data

In Tend: You, then Account options, then Delete account. You will be asked to type DELETE to confirm. It is immediate and it cannot be undone.

That removes your login, your home and everything attached to it (appliances, projects, vendors, reminders, documents), your conversations with the assistant, and your uploaded files.

What happens to the household depends on who is left in it. If other people are still in the household, it stays and keeps working for them: the calendar, the lists, the chores, the board and the family photographs stay with the household, and only what is personally yours is removed. If you are the last member, the household is deleted with your account, and everything in it goes: the calendar, the shared lists, the chores, the board, the family photographs, the profiles of any children in it, and any screen paired to it, which is signed out and cannot be paired again. That is final and we cannot recover it. The privacy policy lists exactly what goes and what stays.

If you are not the last member and you want your share of the household gone as well, or if you cannot get into the app, email tend@emptybar.app from the address on the account and we will do it by hand within a few days.

Questions people actually ask

Is the wall free?
Yes. The calendar, the lists, the chores and the kids' side, the kitchen screen, the photographs and the board are all free, for as many people and as many screens as your household has. Tend Pro pays for the assistant, which is the part that costs us money to run, and for a few features built on it.
Do my kids need accounts?
No, and they cannot have one. A child in Tend is a profile that you create and control: a name and a colour. There is no child login and no child password. A child taps their own face on the kitchen screen to see their jobs, ticks one off, and can ask to spend what they have earned. Only an adult, on a phone, can approve that.
Can I use Tend on a laptop?
Not yet, apart from the wall itself, which is a web page and runs in any browser. Tend in a browser for a person rather than a screen is something we are working on.
Where is my data?
On Supabase, in the United States. Every service Tend uses, and what each one receives, is listed in the privacy policy.
How do I move the wall to a new tablet?
Remove the old screen in Tend, under People, then Screens. That deletes the identity that screen was using. Then open the wall address on the new tablet and pair it with a fresh code. Wipe the old device before you pass it on: its browser will have cached some of what it displayed.

Something is wrong

Email us, and say what you were doing when it happened and which phone or tablet you were on. If the assistant told you something that does not seem right, please do not act on it, and send it to us so we can look at it.
